Military Emblems
Here are some Military symbols that I cut out on my scroll saw. I also cut out the kokopellis.
I might hang them on my Christmas tree. However that might be sacrilegious since kokopelli is a fertility god. Although it is probably no worse than celebrating Halloween.

Chess set & Board

Here is my completed chess set and board. The black pieces are made out of pine and painted in black lacquer. The natural pieces are cut out of oak and finished with danish oil. The oak pieces cut much more smoother than the pine pieces. The next chess set I make will be all out of oak even though it is 10 time the cost of the pine. There is less sanding with the oak and it is much more sturdy.

Chess pieces
Here is an example of some chess pieces that I made out of the wood that was left over from my puzzles. I cut the chess pieces out of pine that I had glued together to make 3/4" blanks.

More portraitsHere is another portrait that I did on my scroll saw of my brother Mike and his fiance Sara.
There were several step that I took to convert the below picture to the finished portrait. the first step that I did was to load the picture up into the photoshop elements program. I then used the threshold option to convert the picture into black and white. The next step that I did was to edit the photo with the erase tool. I printed the picture. I glued it to a piece of 1/8" Finnish birch plywood. Then I cut it out on my scroll saw.

Scroll Saw portrait.
I was at a family gathering yesterday and my brother Matt asked if I would make a scroll saw portrait of himself on a piece of plywood.

Here is the picture I took of him.

Here is the finished product.
I wonder what he is going to do with it?
