Yesterday I had to put one of my ducks down. It had gotten sick and was not getting better. I was afraid that it was going to get the rest of the ducks sick. I tried to chop it's head off with a machete. That did not work out too well. I then tried to ring the poor duck's neck. That worked better but it was not good enough to put the duck out of it's misery. I ended up applying pressure to the ducks neck until it expired. Hopefully if I have to do that again I will do a better job.

I have decided to try the Missouri method of pruning for my tomato plants because it is more work.

Pruning Tomatoes: "n Missouri pruning, you pinch out just the tip of the sucker, letting one or two leaves remain. The advantage is that the plant has more leaf area for photosynthesis and to protect developing fruit from sun-scald. The disadvantage is that new suckers inevitably develop along the side stems, adding to your future pruning chores."
