I watered my garden last evening like I do every evening. I noticed that my potatoes are already starting to show signs of wilt. I may have to water them twice a day. Right now the temperature is in the 90's.
I also applied my Mittleider weekly feed. I figured out that a 20# bag of the weekly feed will only last me a month at the rate that I am applying it. A bag cost me around $14. This could get expensive by the end of the growing season.
I did find that
Helix Aspersa makes an excellent food for my duck.

Garden Snail Helix aspersa
Garden Snail: "The brown garden snail was brought to this country to provide escargot. It soon became a serious pest. Because of the pesticides and other toxins in urban gardens, I would not recommend eating wild snails. For the table they should be raised in a controlled environment."

Today I pinched the
suckers off of my tomato plants. Also my quito melons that I transplanted to the grow bed are not doing so well, so I planted some seeds in their place.

Since my garden was all planted I decided to check out
North Willow and
South Willow canyon. These canyons are by my house and have trout in them. The last time that I checked South Willow it was a couple of weeks ago. At that time the water was too high and off color.
While driving up there I came across a hoard of
mormon crickets. These crickets are more aggressive than the closely related timid
baptist crickets. I think that next time I go up there I will try to catch some and feed them to my ducks. I am always looking for ways to save money and it kind of has a
permaculture feel to it.
When I got back from this little adventure I decided to break down my
beehive and add my bee pollen trap. Unfortunately four bees got into my veil and stung me. I now have a fat head. My wife will argue that I already had a fat head.

About Bee and Wasp Stings: "The body responds to stings by liberating fluid from the blood to flush venom components from the area. This causes redness and swelling at the sting site. If this is not the first time that the person has been stung by that species of insect, it is likely that the immune system will recognize the venom and enhance the disposal procedure. This can lead to very large swelling around the sting site or in a whole portion of the body. The area is quite likely to itch. Oral and topical antihistamines should help prevent or reduce the itching and swelling. Try not to rub or scratch the sting site because microbes from the surface of the skin could be introduced into the wound and result in an infection."
